Tips for Organization

If you want to be a successful student at any college or university an extremely important skill is being organized. Organization is the key to having a fun and happy college experience. Some tips I would recommend would be to write each assignment out when it is assigned. Having a calendar and using a planner can show you how much work you have and when it is due and is an essential part of staying organized.  Also, prioritizing times during the week specifically to focus on homework and times for you to relax can really help you not to procrastinate and stay on top of your work. Speaking from personal experience, procrastinating your homework will stress you out and cause you to panic which will result in lower quality work. The more stressed out you are the harder it will be to get your work done. A tip that has helped me is breaking tasks down into small chunks. It can be overwhelming to think about finishing a whole essay or an entire week’s worth of tasks in one night so instead break it down into pieces. Another tip to staying organized that is often overlooked is practicing self-care. Learning to balance your stress can make it easier to stay organized and keep you from feeling overwhelmed. Self-care can be any activity that prioritizes your emotional and physical well-being such as exercising or even getting consistent sleep.
