Journal #14:
While revising my resume, I will need to keep my focus on a couple of things. The first item on my agenda will be to include more information in regard to my employment history. I mentioned that I have been running a business and I gave the name but I did not include any details surrounding the business whatsoever. The other thing I will need to maintain focus on while revising is deleting any unnecessary information like my high school accomplishments and a couple of other small things. My peer review group was very helpful in showing me and my other group mates, exactly what we were missing, or what we had too much of in our resumes. As a writer, I kept my organization in order and most of my information concise. As a peer reviewer, I was successful in asking my group questions about their own writing and making them think it over a second time, inciting extra thought.
Journal #15
Writing a resume has to be one of the most challenging writing pieces I have ever completed. To keep all of your relevant skills on one page or slightly more, to be arrogant without being too arrogant, and all of the other skills that need to be incorporated into a paper like this are all of the hard aspects of writing a resume. I have learned that I have minimal educational experience, minimal experience in workplaces that should be mentioned on a resume, and so on. To get more experience I basically just need to wait because the older you get the higher the chance for hire and a maybe an internship where I could get more experience. My resume page was easy to organize and to fit on one piece of paper due to my lack of experience, which is obviously different than someone who may be older than me, who might need to cut their experiences down to only the ones that could be applied to the current position being offered. I hope to have that problem one day, so then I could make a master resume and cut it down as I need.
All in all this process was very helpful and I will be using what I have learned during this project to assist me in a real life scenario where I may need a resume or knowledge of how to build one properly.
