Peer Review

Learning Outcome #4: Peer Review

For the peer review assignment I have chosen, I was partnered with Haley. I first read through her whole paper to get a feel of what it was about and to see if there was an identifiable flow that I could later comment on. Overall the paper made sense, but I noticed errors and areas for improvement. One suggestion I made was to expand on her conclusion. The conclusion in this draft of the paper was very brief and not a very strong closing of the paper, so I recommended both online and more descriptively in person, to add more information, restate the thesis, and leave the reader with something to chew on, as Teachers and Professors like to put it. Overall, the main weakness of this paper was that she kept repeating the same reasons in her analysis, she did not develop a new angle to argue from. Instead, she used the same reasons for different pieces of evidence. I was doing the actual peer review with Haley in person in our dorm, so I spoke to her about a lot of the aspects of her paper directly. I mentioned that her strengths are grammar and sentence structure because I never felt like I was lost in the paper for either of those reasons. All in all, this was the peer review that I put the most effort into.
