My College Story

Over the course of college, I have picked up many different lessons that have morphed me into the person that I am today. As a communications major with a minor in writing, there were many opportunities given to me to think critically about the work that I was doing, but also larger concepts that could be applied to life. Toward the end of my college career is really when I began investing myself in the work that I was doing. I started to take the time to think about the work that I was doing, what lessons that I could derive from it, and how it could potentially be applied to the professional world.

For the final semester at University of New England, I was an intern at The Nonantum Resort, a resort in Kennebunkport. This business has been working closely with Blackrock Farm for a couple of years at this point, using their land for events and other projects. I had the opportunity to assist these businesses with a lot of different projects for which I was able to utilize the skills I gained from my time at the University. Hopefully, I will be able to continue the work that I started at The Resort and at Blackrock Farm after graduation. I have submitted a consultancy proposal to basically continue working on the projects that we started this winter and spring. Now, I am just waiting on a meeting!

Feel free to listen to the podcast below. It does a good job of summing up the important aspects of my internship experience!
